Here’s one of the four tracks included on the USB submission given by The Alpaca Jamboree, called Bonny Ship the Diamond.

Here’s what the Alpacas themselves say about it: “A Scottish fishing song from the early eighteenth century. This song was sung by the crew of ships setting sail for Greenland to hunt whales for months on end. In 1819 the ships named in the song were all lost to the Greenland ice, although their crews escaped, camped on the ice in tents made from ship’s sails for 10 months and were eventually rescued.”

Any musical types who would like to give some sounds to Papergirl Dublin, LISTEN UP.

We have decided the best way to do this is via USB key, and we will be able to supply a 1GB key to anyone interested in participating.

More detailed info on this soon, but if you’re interested, email us so that we know it’s worth our while: papergirldublin@gmail.com

Thinking about

ways to allow musicians to contribute to Papergirl Dublin.

Was talking to a chap about this earlier today, he said small USB drives might work. I’d love if there was more than just 2d work involved, this project has huge potential as an alternative to/critique of more established methods of distributing different art forms.

What think ye? Would any musicians want to participate by recording a track and saving it to a USB drive (which could be decorated)?
